Concrete
I am aggregate
I am cement
I am water
I am built
I am impenetrable
I am unbreakable
I am walled in
I am enclosed
I am encased
I am solid
I am thick
I am unmovable
I am heavy
I am massive
I am reinforced
I am unyielding
I am anchored
I am colossal
I am concrete
So cold and gray
So solid and calm
So rigid and still
I am concrete

Constantly Looking
Some people may say that
I am constantly looking for love
Some people may say that
I am constantly looking for the right woman
But actually
I am constantly looking for death
I am constantly looking for my right death

Catching Snowflakes
It was the first time it snowed this year
I went out to Prospect Park
I put my hands in the air
I danced upon the snow covered ground
Snow drifted down on visiting winds
Blanketing everything around me
I would hold out my palms
To catch the snowflakes
I caught so many little crystal wonders
Little delicate geometric worlds
They landed on my warm tongue
On my lashes that guarded my blue eyes
On my hair and on my shoulders and on the tip of my nose
I would run around catching all these snowflakes
Holding out my hands to catch as many as I could
But I never caught the one snowflake I wanted to catch

Maria, The Republican
Maria
She was a Republican
She poured my plum wine
She leaned in close and whispered in my ear
I followed her downstairs
It was there
That Maria the Republican
Gave me head
Downstairs

Cupcake
Your spread legs make you the divine receiver
The blossoming scent makes me take fever
When I submerge myself inside your sweet nectar
It is I who becomes the massive erector
Your open lips are magnificently decadent
As I enter darkness becomes luminescent
Your trembles create worldwide ocean ripples
It is I who nests between your bare nipples
When I thrust between your velvety gates
An explosion of animal grunting awaits
Your orgasms create tidal waves and make glass shatter
The frosting I leave on your backside resembles a painter’s splatter
When I have committed the canonizing crime
Kissing you transcends time
If I could compare thee to a summer’s day
I would not for I have greater things to say
For each time I am hungry
I am hungry for a cupcake like yours

To The Woman I Love
This is a public expression
To the woman I love
I have published this expression
So, all who read it will know
Just how much I love you
And her name
was Idaho
And Idaho is the woman
I’m in love with
So put away your assumptions
Excuse your mistakes
Hide your fears
It’s her that I love
Not you

Deception
After the wall collapsed, crumbled and disintegrated
It only takes a split second, a moment, to rebuild
When it is discovered
That everything was a lie
That there was an extravagant masquerade
That each evening was filled with deception
When deceit was revealed
And dishonesty was brought forth
When it is brought to attention
That there was betrayal
It is then
When everything in the world ends
And only microscopic dust of bones and flesh
Drift on the next outward wind

Niagara Falls
She was gushing
And she was dripping
Swallowing me whole
And losing control
She was Niagara Falls
I treaded endlessly
Keeping afloat patiently
In her spiraling whirlpool
Nestling inside her crowned jewel
She was Niagara Falls
These waves came crashing down on me
I was the captain of the high sea
With each given thrust a high swell
And an echoing vigorous yell
She was Niagara Falls
Swollen with a sudden rogue wave
Everything soaked, I do crave
She was a tsunami of quivering flow
A spray wetting me from head to toe
She was Niagara Falls
She gave me whiplash and took me for a ride
Releasing the gates and unleashing the flood tide
Pouring with such force that nothing can escape
It is her juices that engulf me with this great damp drape
She was Niagara Falls
She was gushing
And she was dripping
Swallowing me whole
And losing control
She was Niagara Falls

My Tongue
I live for that moment
I love that moment
That moment when my tongue
First meets your lips
I live for that moment
I love that moment
When I’m nested between your ivory legs
When my nose is brushing up against you
When the scent of your vulnerable self-surrounds me
When my tongue extends into your unknown territory
I live for that moment
I love that moment
When my powerful tongue reaches out
When my strong tongue is just about to lick
When my long tongue enters your wetness
When your velvety lips swallow my tongue whole
When your warmth ignites my taste buds on fire
When your tightness captures my intruding tongue
I live for that moment
I love that moment
To make you squirm
To make you moan
To make you quiver
To make you levitate
I live for that moment
I love that moment
When my tongue is inside of you
Tasting you and kissing you
Licking you and feeling you
That closeness
That excitement
That intimacy
That ecstasy
I live for that moment
I love that moment
My tongue
I’ll be there for minutes
I’ll be there for hours
I’ll be there for days
I’ll be there for weeks
I’ll be there for months
I’ll be there for years
It’s where I love to be
I’ll take up residency there
I’ll make it my permanent dwelling
I’ll settle inside there forever
I live for that moment
I love that moment
When my tongue is inside you
And when my tongue devours you
And when my tongue surrenders in owe to you
And when my tongue becomes one with you

Erasing The Sky
As I laid down on the freshly cut grass
And looked high above me
At the amazing vivid blue sky
With beautiful white clouds
So fluffy and puffy and angelic
Organic shapes floating by
I took out my yellow number 2 pencil
And I began to erase
One by one
I took my little pink rubber eraser
At the end of my yellow number 2 pencil
And began to erase the clouds
Gently removing each beautiful cloud from the sky
Blowing each of their remains
Into the wind

Fall In Their Midst
I’ve been hunting
And I’ve been searching
Repeating this sequential confronting
I execute the daily working
As my enemy is waiting for me
Always behind the mountain lurking
Watching every move I make
Silently in the valley they remain unseen
Listening to every step I take
They wait for me each day
Stalk me by my trailing scent
I become their prey
I continue with my crusade
With an enveloping heart
No matter how much I am dismayed
With all my given reason
Advance with colossal potency
Even if held accountable for treason
It is my duty as a man with a wounded knee
In this midst I will reach out for you
And release your innocent soul free

Thank You Van Halen
It’s that time of year
Everyone says Thank You
Everyone is thanking
Thankful for this
Thankful for that
I’m thankful for Van Halen
And swooping chairs from the 60’s covered in hand knitted afghans
And military hats made of grey flannel
And swords and beads and M&Ms
And wooden tables and vinyl covered couches
And windowsills big enough to sit upon
And black La-Z-Boy chairs
And tuna fish and pineapple chicken and chocolate chip cookies
And the best chocolate milk in the world
And canned pears
I’m thankful for Van Halen
And Richard Marx
I’m thankful for Tom Cochrane
And Tom Stoppard
I’m thankful for Leslie
And Olivier
I’m thankful for Gilbert
And George
I’m thankful for Van Halen
And my 1991 Ford Red Probe
I’m thankful for all the doctors at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital
And Vicodin and Percocet and Huey Lewis & The News
I’m thankful for Van Halen
And remote electronic garage door openers
I’m thankful for the Garden State Parkway
And sunrises and sunsets that arrive at the same time
I’m thankful for Walkmans and Discmans and iPods
And these emotions that make me incredibly high
I’m thankful for Van Halen
And the prayers in my name
I’m thankful for prophylactics
And apple cider (served cold)
I’m thankful for pins and staples and physical therapy
And that high school cargo net
I’m thankful for blanketing snow
And goggles for my eyes
I’m thankful for gasoline
And tin containers that can hold ashes of the dead
I’m thankful
So fuckin’ thankful for Van Halen
Fuckin’ Van Halen
Mother Fuckin’ Van Halen
I thanked Van Halen so much in this poem
And you (the reader) have no idea why I’m fuckin’ thanking Van Halen
You don’t know the connection
Fuckin’ Van Halen
Thank you!

Swallowing Ajax
I’m healing
This is the fact that you should know
I didn’t know that I was being served a swallow on a plate
The plate was white porcelain with a blue trim
Quite beautiful actually
The swallow was hidden in sauce
With crispy onions and toasted almond slivers
Garnished with greens that looked like whiskers
Served with a white wine at room temperature
I ate the swallow without knowing it was a swallow
It went down simple
And was actually delicious
When I got home
I felt I did something morally wrong
And I still had no idea I just ate a swallow
To rid myself of this sin
I took a 14oz container of Ajax
Combined it with 32oz of water
And drank
My sins are gone
So is the lonely swallow

Be Still
Not even a whisper
Only silence
Not a rustle of grass
Not a pinch of salt
Not a crawl of a cricket
Remain quiet
In the distance
Don’t move
Don’t speak
Don’t breathe
From afar
Don’t observe
Don’t contemplate
Don’t learn to hate
Just keep the door ajar
I am quiet and I am silent
When this solitude is lifted
I will be exalted
Be still, and know that I am here

The Miserable Heist
Court is in session
Right now, you are innocent
Until proven guilty
You’ll be judged by your peers
If found guilty
You’ll be punished
To the fullest extent of the law
There is no talking allowed in the court
No small talk, no whispering
The jurors will be awarded the proper respect
The judge will be honored honorably
May the first witness take the stand -
Nervous
Without any explanations
Sweating in your seat
Officer to your left
Judge to your right
God on the wall
Twenty-four eyes on your soul
This theft was illegal
Was it not?
This theft was immoral
Was it not?
This theft was inconceivable
Was it not?
Nervous more
Without any questions
Fidgeting in your seat
Officer to your left winks
Judge to your right winks
Servant on the floor
Twenty-four eyes wink at you
Court is out of session
Verdict has been made

Occupation
There is all this talk
Of occupying Wall Street
And taking over the nation
Everyone is occupying
Whose streets? Our streets
Everyone is sitting in squares
or standing on stairs
Everyone has a big sign
or a loud megaphone
Everyone chants and screams
or bangs on thunderous drums
Some sit at oak desks
or stand on the trading floor
Some have good paying jobs
or are filthy and dirt poor
Some are young without health insurance
or old with bankrupt Medicare
Some are from far far away
or just around the corner bar
There is all this talk
Of occupation
Occupy this and occupy that
Occupy city, state, and the nation
Police state, people state
Out of state, in state
Counter-state, Fail-state
This is an out of control debate!
There is all this talk
Of occupying Wall Street
And taking over the nation
But all I really want
Is to occupy your heart

Berries here and there
And E V E R Y W H E R E!
Gimme berries

Berry this and berry that
Berry for you and berry for me
Berry for her and berry for he
Berry for you and me!

Everyone loves a berry!

Vanishing Point
At my grandfather’s burial
His coffin was draped with the American flag
And two military officers played taps
It was a brutally frigid day
The coldness made my bones rattle
Made my spine take a back seat
I remember reading the eulogy
And crying
He’s vanished now
Even before he got to meet you

Lights On In The Distance
Crawling out of the accident
Trying to make my way
I need some help
Some assistance
Without it, I think I’ll die
There is nothing around me
My car rolled down the hill
Tossed a few times
Into the river’s edge
I’m lucky to be alive
Crawling
Pines
And fish spawning in the river
Rocks beneath me
Pebbles in my shoes
And leaves falling from the trees
A recent rain had passed
I’m crawling
I need help
Darkness is caving in
Coming in quickly
Soon will be night
And I’ll be out of day
I’m searching
For help
For some kind of lend
A hand
Some hope
I’m crawling to find my hero
Someone to rescue
Someone to heal
I’m crawling out of the accident
Up the steep hill
Away from this cold river
Away from the fish
And the rocks
Pebbles in my shoes
I’m cut
I’m bruised
I’m constricted
I’m tight
I’m light-headed
I’m dreaming
I’m parched
My tongue and lips are so dry
Chapped
I’m crawling
I’m crawling out of the accident
I see a light on in the distance
