Morning Crows
29 degrees Fahrenheit
I stand there with
4’3”
4’9”
4’11”
and
5’1”
We wait, we freeze
That big yellow thing arrives
We insert ourselves into its cocoon
And off we go
To our daily prison
Away from Mom & Dad

Magnet
Learning from cheap fucks.
Lawyers bombard you with uncontrolled fees.
Enhanced, results may vary.
Yet still, over and over.
You might just find something else.
If you look beneath the rock, scaled the wall, or opened the door.
Set aside your shadows.
Leave your empty heart behind.
Now is the time.
I plea, I scream, I chant -
Can you hear me?

Mistaken Love
Remembering you draped in shades of red
I stand tall, I stand straight
Down hills, sloped, hard, rocky
I bend, I step, I climb, I fall
You hit me with your rattle
Up again, hit once more
Step after step, I get to the top
And spiral downwards
Helpless, you occupy my heart entirely
Your whispers enchant my dreams
I tumble, I stall, I halt
Crying in the corner
I peer out, I watch the others
They dance around the fire
Touching, reaching high
Stars light the night sky
She closed the door
I realize now what I need
I knock and follow the path once more
Nothing in sight, signs point in directions
My hair turns grey, white
The lure holds me near
I kiss her wet lips
Shattered, I’m awake
Awake

Man Is A Machine
Living among lost
Kernels of electricity
Pods of glory
Seeds of unrest
Man is a machine
Robotic movement
Plant generated
Mechanically engineered
Microscopically assembled
Man is a machine
Unemotionally invented

Required back-ups
Failure imminent

Morning Bear, Night Swallow
Approaching sun rises above skyline enemy
Walks down separating the waves
Two floors above they leap into truth
Discovery of reflections reveal a lair
Story unfolds, flights escape
No entry present, no stone, no judge
Bright light overcast cloud
An infant walks before paint dries

Moving Nothing
Overcoming night’s dream.
Dripping wait you wake out of love.
Hands holding you back.
Beating you down into the mold you are.
You try to become who you are not.
Wearing clothes of a rock star or preacher’s son.
Wake up on the wrong side of the bed.
Wrong time, wrong day.
The battle begins, the tears roll down.
I hear you call my name, I wake up, restless,
Once more.

Making Love To Weather
I asked her for permission
She denied me once, she denied me twice
Wasn’t until Tuesday
That I laid down on that bed of ice.

Melting Into You
A moment in space
A pause of breath
A halt of time
A hush of sound
You sit next to me
On my black couch
Part of you is in my lap
Part of you clings to my neck
Your head lies upon my chest
Your hands clench mine
Feelings become
Our hearts merge into one
A softening endearment
Disappearing into love’s gift
As you occupy my heart
You melt into me

Morning (Version #3)
My body woke up looking for yours.
You were not next to me, nowhere to be found.
I made some coffee; I made some toast.

Me
I have been bleeding from holes in my hands and feet for days now.
I have pain, but most of the pain is in my mind.
An ache like no other.
A fear of destruction, the end of love.
I want you all to gather around me.
Listen to the few words I speak from my lips and wild tongue.
Replay the visions I had while in mother earth’s forrest.
Encompass my heart as my body moves across the sea.
It is my last day here.
I want you to learn from my lessons.
Take my dreams and hopes with you.
Betray no one but your fears.
Remember to sail in the open winds.
Harvest each other’s love.
Cherish your children, hug your lovers.
Show mercy to your enemies.
Before you leave me to wither.
Soak up my blood and show no despair.
Collect my fallen skin and shed your amounting silence.
Cradle my charred heart and sweep up my eyelashes.
As the pipers play their last hymn.
Take your journey forward never looking behind.
Salt pillars stand strong at my side.
As my wooden embrace engulfs my lasting spirit.
Walk on solid ground with open wounds.
Let your blood combine with other’s before you.
Allow your fluids to enrich the history.
And let love live as you live love.

Mashed Potatoes
I got this email from my mother the other day. I wanted to share it with you.
Subject: mashed potatoes
Date: Oct 12, 2006 9:28 AM
great news! If you enjoy REAL mashed potatoes (not instant) go to the supermarket,
in the dairy section and find a container called Diner’s Choice.
It comes in a huge tub in a few styles and pretty healthy too.
I tried Country Style Mashed. It is to die for.
You microwave it as isand add margerine if you want.
It is real potatoes made with skim milk, not alot of fat.
it is not frozen so it is dated and it is refrigerated.
They have garlic mashed and others. Yabba dabba doo!
I would say it serves 2-3...
I found this by chance...what a nice surprise....run don’t walk.....
if you need the taste of real comfort food that is healthy too :)

My Munro
Eyes of the hawk are on you now
All land west of the great Hudson
Bows to your beauty.
The great rock of Elbert
Buckles beneath the weight of your heart
The beats echo through canyons East of Death.
Eyes of blue will protect your clutch
Should your wax melt to the sea
My grasp shall hold tight like a river bend.
I am the lasting smoke of White Shield
Born in the Long House by spirit
Place of Goshen by womb.
Sun rises and sets with you
Wind has brought you here
I wait for the calming night dance.
Joseph’s Perce have taught me well
To follow the secrets of my chambers
And be with she, my Munro.

Moon Ring
Looking South
Into the tropical night sky
I see a mysterious ring
Around the moon
Moon light bounces
On the surface of the ocean
The warm air is above me
While my body floats in the water
That ring around the moon
Perhaps caused my humidity
Or the clouds in the tropic
It reminds me
I tread in the moonlit water
Engulfed in heat
Getting lost in thoughts
I think of you

Midnight Brooklyn
Ebony,
Your architectural legs
Wrapped around my waist
Lights scattering in the room
The rumble is heard
Announcements made
It’s time to go
Ride on my back
Exclaimed, he did
Just feeling a bit,
Like going down on you -
It was something you said
Somehow you made me curl
And then he spoke
Then with the beat of a different drum
It was the three of us
In the meadow alone
No longer of heights
He mailed the signed letter
And together
Three of us made love
Without you there.

It’s a long road,
but at the end,
he’ll be waiting,
waiting for you.

Miles Away
I can taste your lips against mine
Even when you’re miles away.
I can feel your hug embrace mine
Even when you’re miles away.
I can see your smile in my mind
See your hair down
And your hair put up
Even when you’re miles away.
I can hear your voice
Listen to your laugh
And feel your heart beat
Even when you’re miles away.
When you are miles away
It does not matter how far you are
How many mountains you have challenged
Or how many rivers you have crossed
You will always be near to my heart.
